Tea & Tattle @ Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya.

After the whole coffee scene that's really popular since almost two years back and that's when I learned how to drink coffee (yes, not exactly a coffee person but the boyfriend is :3), tea is finally something that we can indulge in during weeknights! :D

Tea & Tattle which is originated from Ipoh, has recently opened its new shop in Damansara Uptown which was previously POKC. According to one of the waitresses who served us previously when POKC was still around, the owner of POKC partnered with Tea & Tattle's owner to begin this new business.

Anyway, the place was relatively new when I first stepped into the cafe but there was a decent amount of customers though it was close to 10pm.
Limited selection of cakes. Hope there are more now!
Wide selection of food for breakfast...
All-day meals...
Lunch and dinner menu...
Salads and desserts...
And this was my favourite page that night because I wanted to eat something not too heavy since it was after dinner! :p

Since the cafe is named Tea & Tattle, of course they serve tea lah! They had a really extensive menu of tea selection which took me 15 minutes to select one out of almost 150 different variants. :o
Rooibos Tea selection.
Got too excited with the long premium tea list that I decided to order Ethos Rooibos Tea (RM 16 per teapot) which should do some trick in calming myself HAHA. It's with Chamomile, Rooibos. Mint and Honeybush (all organic yo!).
Tea wasn't enough. Had to take a slice of cheesecake too! :p

Ate, talked and drank some tea. Halfway through, decided to order something from the light bites section and the service team helped us to refill hot water into the teapot too. Mr, Aven, who is the consultant of the company served us and even introduced us to some of the premium tea leaves that they have.
Just some of them out of more than 100 selections.

Through his explanation, we understood that most of them are carefully crafted by award-winning tea experts and it's uniquely different that comes with various benefits too. In fact, one of them had some coffee scent in it and there was even chocolate scent to another variant. So awesome man! Almost bought a few different flavours back but didn't have enough cash hahah!
Look at the amount of ingredients inside the teapot. Damn generous okay!

Our light bite was served after 10-15 minutes. Presenting to you...
Donut Chips (sorry, can't remember how much this was but it should be less than RM 20)! Yes, they are real donuts that are pressed and deep fried. It may sound a little unhealthy but I can assure you that there's almost no oil - might be air-fried, and it's served with lots of cinnamon, maple syrup, sour cream and another mayonaise sauce that I'm not too sure what was it mixed with. Whatever it was, this was good man!

Overall verdict? This is a great place to go for REAL tea without milk or sugar. Just natural and organic ingredients that gives you a different flavours. The next time I'm there, am definitely trying their mains! Also, big thanks to Mr. Aven for spending some time to share more about the tea selection that they have and some of its background! :)

If you'd like to enjoy a good chat over cups of tea, do give this a try!

DC Comic Superheroes Cafe @ Sunway Putra Mall.

Went to Matta Fair over the weekend to find some cheap holiday packages and after walking around for hours, decided to find a place for dinner with the boyfriend at Sunway Putra Mall (previously known as The Mall). There's eateries at every floor of the mall so we went walking around to see what's available for at least half an hour or more (not that it's that huge with lots of eateries, more like we were pretty indecisive at that point of time)

Since most of the other eateries are available in other shopping malls that we occasionally visit, finally settled down at DC Comic Superheroes cafe that is not found anywhere else in KL but in Sunway Putra Mall.

Some photos of the cafe:-
Exterior of the cafe in which you can easily spot the counter and selection of cakes at the main entrance.
A closed area with some tables outside of the shop along the walkway.
From where we sat.
The retail shop right next to the cafe/ behind our table.

While waiting for our orders to be served at our table, came across this scary looking Batman head that was directly above our table.
"Eat your food or I will eat you!" Or at least that's how I interpreted that expression. :3

Though there were only less than 10 tables of diners, we had to wait for quite a bit. Possibly cause the kitchen's not too huge since I don't think there was a shortage of staff as there were quite a number of them.
The Gotham Madness Latte (RM 12) which was too milky and could hardly taste any coffee in it.

Food was finally served after about 20-30 minutes and coincidentally.. the food that we ordered represented Batman and Superman HAHA.
Batman vs Hawkman Burger (left) at RM 19.80, which consists of an egg, two turkey slices, with a slice of cheese, two slices of tomatoes, 2-3 slices of cucumber, lettuce and five pieces of chips.
Superman Beef Punch Burger (RM 23) which is a 150gm Australian beef patty, with cheese, tomato and cucumber slices, lettuce with some sauce that tasted like BBQ. This is also served with a box of chips and some cheese dip.

I was a little uncertain on how the food will turn out since it looked like it's just a concept cafe from its original retail business. No surprise - the Batman vs Hawkman was quite a let-down as the taste was rather bland and it felt like I got cheated for paying almost RM 20 for such food quality.. and they served only FIVE chips HOMAIGAWD. *face palm* The Superman Beef Punch Burger was slightly better, though the patty was a little too dry. I just hope the movie 'Batman vs Superman' won't let me down like the food and drinks did. -_-

Though the food and the coffee was not up to my personal standards, I'll say that there is some effort put in for its food presentation. Also, I believe this will attract DC Comic fans so if you're one, can always drop by at the cafe.

Sugar Rush @ Section 16, Petaling Jaya.

Oh hello there! It's been a while since I've updated anything but was quite caught up with work after the CNY break! Anyway, few weeks back, went to Sugar Rush for some cakes!

I haven't heard of Sugar Rush before ( I'm starting to think if it's just me who haven't heard of this dammit) until the boyfriend told me about it and one fine night after dinner, we finally recall this place that he's wanted to bring me there since few months back.

Located nearby the housing area in Section 16 (Waze can direct you there), it is quite easily spotted and there were ample parking spaces for the customers.

Upon stepping into the cafe, we were greeted by a friendly uncle who is possibly in his 40s and every corner of it was well decorated. As they are pretty famous for their cakes, they had a long table that displayed a variety of them for people to select their preferred flavours.

Long table of cakes..
Love the lighting of the place.

Once we've chosen our cakes, went to the counter to...
yes, order & pay there. :p
Aside from cakes, they also serve quite a number of dishes.

Sat comfortably in front of the long table of cakes and waited for about 5 minutes before our drinks and cakes were served to us. :D
Cold Brew (RM 12). Presentation is already so nice , taste wise is the same too! :D
Nice right?!
My piccolo latte (RM 10). Can't believe I'd say this even though I'm not a die-hard coffee fan and I always preferred it not being too bitter but I quite like the after taste of this coffee. :D
Chocolate Ganache (left) and Banana Salted Caramel (right) at RM 15.80 each. The taste of the cakes were rather memorable as they are pretty generous with the ingredients. On top of that, it's not on the sweet side which I believe it's slightly healthier HAHA.
The man who is responsible for such a sinful but awesome treat.

All in all, I would give them a two thumbs-up for the cakes and the coffee. Perhaps next round, I'll go there for their food and see if it's as good! :D If you haven't try it out, please do!
