Hail's @ Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya.

In the recent months, there are quite a number of new cafes booming in Damansara Uptown. So on one quiet and random night (not so quiet when there's me actually), paid a visit to Hail's, a cafe that sells soft serve ice-creams.

Placed our orders at the counter and waited for them to be served to us. While waiting, here's a few photos taken using my lousy Samsung Note 3. Picture quality is.. meh.
The coziest corner in the whole place.
Choices of soft serve ice-creams. So colourful man!
Other desserts too, if you like.
Drinks to quench your thirst or if you wish to stay awake for the rest of the night.

I must say, there is something unique about their soft serve ice-cream flavours - Pink Peppercorn. :D Don't be deceived by the word peppercorn, it's actually a type of dried berry with some peppery after taste.
Pink Peppercorn (RM 8.50+) - Very minimal pink on it but the taste is just wow, though I do think that not everyone will like it due to its after taste.

By the way, they also have Black Sesame flavour, which I didn't get to try! :( When we finished the ice-cream, our waffles was served.
Back to Basics with Sea Salt French Butter and Homemade Gula Melaka Sauce. Nothing to shout out about this cause it was quite a let-down for me. The texture and taste was too light for my liking. :/

Anyway, I would give it to them for their colourful and unique ice-creams, though I've yet to try SoftSrve. Wouldn't go back for the waffles though. If you'd like to try, feel free to visit them at:-

Bites Bakery Cafe @ Bandar Puteri Puchong.

Approximately two weeks back, had the honour to be one of the first few to try some really cute Dim Sum-sized bread at Bites Bakery Cafe in Bandar Puteri Puchong, which opened in March 2016.

The cafe was pretty huge and spacious where on one side, it's for you to dine in and the other, is for you to purchase the bread just like other bakeries that you can usually find. Before I go any further, some photos to help you navigate around. :p
Exterior of the cafe.
Some cakes on display.
This got me interested because the generous amount of macademia nuts they have on the medium-sized cake. :o
Choose your breads here. Menu is not full-fledged yet though as it's still rather new.
The Dim Sum bread I was talking about.
Place your order/ pay for the bread that you've chosen at the entrance here.
Some drinks and desserts perhaps? Oh wait, they even have Thai Tea man!
The spacious interior of the cafe.
Dine in if you wish.
For those who wish to work from their laptop.
The sofa corner.

Once everyone's arrived, we were served with two huge Chocolate towers. Super generous of the owner, especially when there were only about 10 of us.
Very nice, thick and chocolate-y. Good news is that it will be available in the menu soon!

The owner then brought in about 15 varieties of Dim Sum buns to us. And yes, they were served to us in the conventional Dim Sum baskets too. Super cute!
Ham & Cheese Butter Bun.
Cranberry Cheese Oyaki.
Curry Powder Sausage Roll.
Chocolate Bun (left) and Tuna Mayo (right).
White Chocolate Bun.
Variety of Cinammon Twist, Mini Donut, and some others that were already mentioned earlier.
More Dim Sum buns!
They even have Green Tea Oyaki, Vege Scones, Oreo buns etc.

Had the opportunity to tried each flavour and I must say, after so many pieces, I didn't feel tired of eating them. Probably cause it's not on the sweet side, and the breads were in mini-sized after all. :p Just when I thought it's almost over, the owner then served us with normal-sized breads!
Some of the breads that are already available in their cafe.
The main baker and the owner shared some insights with us.

If you're wondering what kind of insights they've shared, here's a few:-
  1. Their breads are made of butter instead of margarine as it's a slightly healthier option.
  2. All buns are made fresh daily as early as 6 or 7 in the morning.
  3. No breads and doughs are left overnight as they will be disposed.
  4. The Dim Sum concept is for those who wish to try a few breads at a go without feeling too full after that.
  5. If you wish to enjoy the Dim Sum buns in the cafe, they are more than willing to help you reheat them and yes, it's served hot and soft, which I personally prefer my bread to be like that!
  6. Dim Sum buns are available at RM 4.90 for 4 pieces and RM 9.90 for 9 pieces.
  7. There is a B1F1 promotion after 8.30 pm and B1F2 after 11.30 pm.
The owner, the baker and I. :p
Group shot.

All in all, this would be recommended for those who wish to go for something light and nothing too sweet for tea time. Also, they have a few pasta and waffles selection to choose from, though it's rather limited now. :) If you wish to dig in, feel free to visit them at:-

My (Unpleasant) Experience at JPJ Bandar Sri Permaisuri.

Haven't been updating much these two weeks because am a little caught up with work and enjoying life but today, I feel there is a need for me to talk about this no matter how late it is because it still pisses me off until now gaddammit.

So, I was at JPJ Bandar Sri Permaisuri in the afternoon earlier today and upon arrival, the first thing that happened was the malfunction ticket machine. It wasn't an issue because luckily they had someone stationed at the counter, whom by the way, had no smiles on her face at all though you smiled at her.

Okay fine. I figured must be because the hot weather that's killing everyone's mood and maybe their air-cond wasn't like York Cooling King, so I forgave her.

Then, I had to wait for 85 people before it's my turn. Scouted for a seat and ohmygawd, out of 13 counters, only half of the counters are open like WTF? By then, I was already thinking of a few excuses for this scenario - gone for lunch, lack of staff (I don't even know why though there are so many people who needs a job these days), gone to the toilet to do some business etc.

So, I waited.. and waited.. in a stuffy and packed place.

50 minutes later... 7 people left before me.

AND THEN SURPRISE. SYSTEM DOWN WHADDAPHUCK.

Okay lah, fine. I try to understand. System is not upgraded cause got no money to do so, hence, will go bonkers a little.

Best part was that they started asking people to line up and it's not even according to numbers. Just based on why you're there i.e. renew road tax or licenses. -__-

Since the numbering system is gone, it was more of a first come first serve basis / luck game. Ended up have to wait for another 15-20 minutes just to renew my license.

They even made it compulsory to buy the card holder that is costs RM 1. Actually, I'm not even sure if it's compulsory because when I asked the lady, the way she answered was a little uncertain. I don't even need it but have to buy lor since she said it's compulsory.

THAT'S NOT IT. During my observation, I see some of them really rude to the public and I really hated the way they spoke to people.

So yes, really pissed at what happened today.

Also, can anyone verify if it is compulsory to buy the card holder? I damn beh song because I felt like I just got robbed (though it's only RM 1 lah.)!

A PERFECTÒ Movie Experience!

As all of you may have known (you're weird if you don't :x), the long-awaited movie 'Batman vs Superman' is finally up in the cinemas last week! The awesome part was I had the opportunity to watch it a day right after its official premiere with other selected Nuffnangers for the first time ever! 'Super' cool and 'bat'-ass (i'm punny like that) okay!

Courtesy of Mamee PERFECTÒ and Fox Movies Premium, ten of us were invited to the watch the movie at Luxe TGV in One Utama. Though the mall wasn't too far from my office, but the jam was really bad! Luckily I still made it for the event and had to really thank Samantha and Lance from Nuffnang who waited for my arrival with empty stomachs just to ensure I wasn't feeling out of place. They even introduced me to some other bloggers at the event! :D

Beautiful lightbox that spells PERFECTÒ at the entrance to Luxe TGV.

In case you don't know what Mamee PERFECTÒ is, it's the only player in the market that penetrates into the premium snacks category by offering an exciting range of potato crisps that features authentic recipes and fresh garnishing.
Don't believe? Nah! Real chives in their crisps okay!

Anyway, that's besides the point. They launched their popcorn range last May and in line with the brand name that highlights perfection, each popcorn is fully coated according to its flavours.
No joke man. Fully. Coated. For. Real. How often do you really get popcorns that give a full taste in every bite and is not as sweet as the usual you get elsewhere? I don't know about you but this is the first for me. By the way, this is the Ultimate Caramel flavour.

There are two other flavours - The French Vanilla and Chocolate In Love which I didn't get to try it! Anyone else tried it yet? Please let me know which is your favourite so I can grab some for my next movie date! :D

Upon arrival, took some shots at the photo wall!
Yours truly.

With Diana.
With Samantha.
Me showing off my ticket for one HAHA.

Before the movie, had some time to indulge in the dinner buffet spread...

Drinks..

... and a variety of food.

Had a light dinner and chatted with some of them while waiting for the movie to start.
Selfie with some of the Nuffnangers!

Group shot before we entered the hall!

The movie started at about 9 pm and we were already comfortably seated by then. Also, each of us received some goodies that were placed nicely on each seat!
Mine, all mine! :D
Cindy and I with our PERFECTÒ popcorn, all ready for the movie!

Though I was a little confused at certain parts of the storyline, it kept me wide awake throughout the 2.5-hour movie as it was action-packed and spoiler alert - Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was really cool, especially when she decided to appear to help Batman and Superman. :p Also, though some didn't give really positive reviews bout the movie but I think it's still pretty good - which I ended up watching the movie again with the boyfriend!

Headed home and took more shots of my goodies.
Envy or not? :p
Even better, got my personal movie night kit that I'm so sharing it during my movie date next week. :D
Just in case you're curious...
OKAY FINAL PHOTO TO SHOW OFF TO THE WORLD. HEHEHE. Really love the kit! :D

By the way, I've tried the Ultimate Caramel flavour and here's my two cents, caramel is usually really sweet but this isn't the case though. It wasn't the super sweet type and definitely won't leave you feeling thirsty after. It's that good okay and this really makes it a great snack anytime for me now, especially when we're watching movies with limited water available! :p

Honour and Honesty.

Life's been a little busy lately and after some shit that hit on me, finally had time to sit down and express what I feel for the past few weeks.

Two words that start with the letter 'H'.
honour.

In the past, I've gone through times when someone told me something that seemed almost believable, you choose to believe him/her, and then BAM!

Broken promises. Empty words echoing at the back of your mind. You then become conscious about everything related to this person until you get sick of it and wave goodbye for good.

Experiences turned into the reasons to why I'm always bothered when people don't honour their words. Doesn't matter who, when or what, as long as one doesn't honour his/her words repetitively, I find it hard to move on in life with him or her because trust becomes an issue. So yeah, the past shaped me well and I try to honour what I say all the time.

Unfortunately, not everyone sees this as important because some can only imagine that the world revolves around them and nobody else matters. They see others' efforts as a stepping stone to achieve what they want. People just don't matter to them and they become so unappreciative that makes you want to smack some sense into their brains.

These are the people who have lost their integrity, and to a certain extent, their humanity. Beware though. Your success won't last because there are consequences to this. Karma will come.

honesty.

You put up a good show, you get people to be part of the show which seemed all fair and square. When it's coming to an end, this isn't the real case.

It's only butterflies and rainbows on the outside. Deep inside, you're dark and selfish. You let people down. You let others believe in you until everything is a fucking lie.

So, it boils down to the question of how do you expect people to believe in you? To trust what your words this whole time? When trust is broken, you lose respect. You lose those who wanted to be a part of you. You use their faith in you to get the good out of it. Careful, this will crumble soon.

***

For the past few weeks, there were scenarios like these that it seemed like they are on repeat. Different people, similar scenarios. They manipulate your goodwill to achieve their goals and when they're done with you, they just turn their backs away. They make you believe that it will happen, but what you didn't know was that decision has been made long before.

Unfortunately, my hands are tied. I can do nothing but to rant here. Secretly wishing that karma hits them, and it hits them hard.

There are only things to learn out of this:
  • Take cautious steps before it hits.
  • Get proof points.
  • Compile whatever you can to make sure your ass is covered.
  • Be smart about life.
So, for those who made my life difficult these few weeks, fuck thank you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow a little faster. Thank you for letting me down just so I bounce back to reality quicker than you think I can ever be.

Again,
