Another Milestone for the Year!

Been wanting to share this news for a long time now but waited slightly longer because I felt it wasn't the right time yet. So, here goes... *breathes in*

I'VE GOTTEN A PROMOTION IN LESS THAN SIX MONTHS WITHIN THE COMPANY. *squealssss

This is definitely a new milestone for me and of course, must celebrate lah!

Came across a Groupon voucher for Baan 26, a Thai Seafood Restaurant & Bar which is located in Changkat. Decided to try their Thai food out because I've always been to the few usual Thai restaurants around Cheras.

Since it was pretty early in the afternoon, the road was empty and you can easily park right in front of the restaurant.

The ambient inside the restaurant/ bar.

While waiting for the food, decided to order a Chang Beer because I wanted to reminisce our previous trip to Bangkok last year. Thai food with Thai beer. So many memories man. :p

When the beer was served, I was rather shocked because it looked quite different from the one I had in Bangkok.

This was what it looked like when I first saw the beer.. (photo taken from the Internet because it wasn't something that fascinated me when I was introduced to it for the first time)

...And look at this! So totally different from the one above and it's only RM 20 per bottle!
With the camera flash, it gives a darker shade of green and ohmaigawd, I love this new facelift cause it looks more refreshing compared to the previous one. Even the contour looks better and has a better hand-feel than the old one!

Looks like it's not just me that has hit a new milestone, but Chang (beer) has done it too. :p

Since the food hasn't been served yet, went outdoors to take some photos of me with my new hair colours (read: purple, red and brown) because I needed the natural lighting to make me look better heh.
The new bottle and I.
Can you see how refreshing and elegant the bottle looks like now? You better agree with me!
Pretty colours like the traffic light except it's orange and not red in the background.

Food is finally served and must take some shots of the food lah
Yeah, that's me in the reflection while the dude next to me is my boyfriend who is checking if I'm done with taking photos because he is waiting for me to finish taking them before he can dig in!
But no... I decided to make him take a photo of me with the food and my bottle too HAHA!

Okay la, so after a million photos that he's taken for me, the above is the only photo that I'm posting here because I looked so round in the rest of them.

Tried the dishes which weren't really up to our expectations but the Tomyum was pretty good... and really spicy for me.
Yes, very... very... spicy that I had to gulp the beer down to cool it off. Luckily, the beer is fresh and smooth, which is my type of drink since it's important to be able to drink it without too much of bitterness.

We ended up not finishing the food but let's not get to why we didn't. Chatted a while more because the ambient was still pretty nice as it felt like we owned the place (hah. I wish :p). It was also because there was no one and it's quiet enough for us to talk more!
Us. :D
And now, I present you my empty Chang beer bottle that's become my new ornament in the room. *sighs happily*

Despite having an OK lunch, it was a rather awesome time together because in the end, it's what we were celebrating about that matters most. Anyway, will definitely buy the drink the next time I have a gathering with my friends because it's not only easy and smooth to indulge in, but I really want to collect the bottles and... I will figure out what to do with them later. :p

Meanwhile, for those who wants to find out more about this beer, feel free to click into Chang Beer's Facebook Page!

  1. It is a cheap good beer. I think better than Tiger beer. It's at least smoother.

    1. I agree with you. It's pretty smooth and for a price like this, it's quite worth it. :)

  2. I had Chang in KK for only RM5 per can a few years ago in Thai restaurant.
If you have beer, no need to eat so much rice as both are carbohydrates.

    1. Hello! Wow, that's quite affordable at only RM 5 per can! Yeah, fully agreed that beer and rice don't go together HAHA. Rice was actually served with the set anyway. Heh.
